A Life of Music

"Mahasukha is a skilled and sensitive man who is dedicating his life to the path of beauty and calling many to join him.” ~ Jutika
Mahasukha's musical journey began with a passion for the drums at the age of 11. After many years of lessons and playing in bands, he went on to achieve an Advanced Diploma in Music and has been a musician for nearly 50 years. He has a lifelong love of music and beauty, and is a gifted and passionate singing and mantra leader, arranger, singer and percussionist. His tastes in music are wide and varied; from African music to Sun Ra to Arvo Pärt.

Mahasukha has been leading inspiring Soulful Singing workshops and Beauty of Mantra rituals with thousands of people for over 20 years. He's in his element leading  people in singing and mantra - bringing out the best in people with enthusiasm, sensitivity  and encouragement, bringing people together in joy and harmony.

Sacred Space
Mahasukha is also a Buddhist and his name means Great Bliss. Sukha also means, "good space", and where there is good space - or sacred space - there is happiness.

Creating a sacred space is at the heart of everything that Mahasukha does. A sacred space is where all emotions and experiences are welcomed, seen and heard, and where anything that needs transforming may be transformed. Our rawness and vulnerability, our discordant parts, our longing for connection, for peace and belonging may be welcomed and worked through in what may be a magical alchemical process (and not without playfulness and humour!).

As Joseph Campbell said, “Your sacred space is where you can find yourself, again and again.”

And once we’ve found ourselves again, we feel more whole and content, we experience gratitude, joy and bliss, our imaginations come alive and we feel more connected to the sacred, to beauty, to love, both in ourselves and in the world.
"If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life you ought to be living is the one you are living."
         ~ Joseph Campbell
