"What is mantra? The path of magic."
Mantra is both a devotional practice and a form of meditation. It is sacred sound
medicine. It's a portal to another dimension. Mantra has the power to take you out
of your head and into your heart and body, to bring peace and calm, to uplift, heal
and transform. One becomes more mindful, grounded, present, blissful and whole.
One drops down the ancient well, down into the nourishing still depths where
one finds one's centre, purpose, faith and love, again and again.

Soulful, enchanting and deeply moving
Mahasukha teaches Buddhist mantras in part-harmony and accompanies
the chanting with gentle but powerful drumming. His style of mantra is
soulful, enchanting and deeply moving. We chant before a beautiful
shrine and make candle offerings. We enact a ritual. We create
a sacred space full of mystery, wonder and magic.
"This is so
magical!
I can feel how
with every note
my breath becomes
slower and deeper
and my heart opens
to the world.
Thank you.” ~ Lily
“It was another incredible evening.
Incredible is not strong enough a word. I have had some very powerful experiences
while meditating but that was the first time I’ve experienced it during mantra. It was
the perfect mantra for me at the moment. I experienced such a huge amount of
strength, love and bliss. It was euphoric really but somehow it had a huge
amount of internal power behind it.” ~ Sarah
"The seer, the poet and singer, the spiritually creative, the psychically receptive and sensitive,
the saint: they all know about the essentiality of form in word and sound in the visible and the tangible. Through them the word becomes mantra and the sounds and signs of which it is formed become the vehicles of mysterious forces.
Through them the visible takes on the nature of symbols,
the tangible becomes the creative tool of the spirit, and life becomes a deep stream, flowing from eternity to eternity." |
~ Lama Anagarika Govinda
Evoking the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas
In Buddhist tradition, each mantra has a different quality and energy, and is associated
with a different Buddha or Bodhisattva. A mantra is the sound form, or symbol, of that
quality eg Wisdom or Compassion. By chanting a mantra one is invoking, calling on
the divinity and the particular quality that the divinity represents, and in doing so,
one is cultivating that quality within oneself and raising one's own vibration.
